In spring the new leaves are flushed with bronze.

This deciduous tree is celebrated for its elegant form and dense foliage, which transitions from vibrant green in spring and summer to a striking golden brown in autumn. Bonsai Tree Care

Caring for your English Oak and Beech bonsai trees is relatively easy. Both species thrive in outdoor environments and benefit from full sun exposure.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but well-drained, being careful not to let it dry out completely. During the growing season, these trees will need more frequent watering.

Pruning and Wiring: Regular pruning is essential to maintain their shape and encourage dense foliage. The English Oak and Beech both respond well to pruning and wiring, allowing you to shape their growth over time. Always check the wires regularly to prevent scarring.

Repotting: Repot your bonsai every 2-3 years in early spring before new growth begins. Use a well-draining soil mix to prevent root rot and to encourage healthy root development.

Fertilising: Feed your bonsai with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser during the growing season to provide the necessary nutrients for robust growth.

Our English Oak bonsai are fantastic representations of these majestic native trees. They form powerful trunks and main branches and make incredible bonsai. On most of our oak bonsai the leaf size is down to about 5cm (2”) and on some of the older ones they are about 2.5cm (1”) They are easy to care for and extremely hardy.
